ZKTeco iFace 502 is a time attendance terminal that identifies staff by face, fingerprint or card.

Multi-mode identification is the practical feature. Fingerprint readers struggle with worn or damaged fingers — a real problem in manual trades — and cards get lent to colleagues. Offering face recognition alongside both closes the gap: every member of staff has at least one method that works reliably for them, and facial recognition is genuinely hard to lend.

Terminals of this class store records locally and export them to payroll or attendance software, so clocking continues to work when the network or the internet is down, and nothing is lost.

Plan the mounting position before installation. Face recognition depends on consistent lighting: a terminal facing a bright window or in direct sun reads poorly, and that is by far the most common cause of a system that works during commissioning and frustrates staff afterwards.
